Who Are We and How Did We Even Get Here?
Absurdity Digital Marketing is the culmination of more than a decade and a half of experience in increasing online visibility for clients across a full range of industries, both B2B and B2C, in Atlanta and around the country. We specialize in SEO and content marketing, in particular, because it’s both what we love, and where we see the most opportunity to fix a very broken system that takes advantage of small and medium-sized businesses, in particular.
Why “Absurdity” Digital Marketing?
Well, honestly, it’s because over the years, we’ve seen and done some truly absurd things in the name of marketing. From outrageous ways we’ve seen “SEO agencies*” be…ummmmm…less than truthful (?) and transparent with their clients, to the ever-changing whims of Google, we’ve learned that marketing is, at its core, a wonderfully absurd necessity. It’s absurd how crucial it is for business success, and equally absurd how complicated and convoluted many of the tools and platforms have become—even some of the most innovative and useful, like OpenAI.
Our Philosophy
We believe in taking the absurdity of digital marketing and making it work for you. We thrive on the unexpected, leveraging our extensive experience to turn even the most outlandish ideas into effective strategies. Our approach is rooted in transparency, creativity, and a touch of irreverence, because if you can’t have a little fun in this crazy (read: absurd) industry, what’s the point?
Why “Defcuk”?
Why, indeed.
First and foremost, we didn’t want to use a REAL swear on our website because if our kids found out they’d never let us live it down (kids today…so judgy).
But the truth is that it’s part of a series of questions we find ourselves asking over and over. Almost every time we take on a new SEO project and dive into the backend, as a matter of fact.
“WHY?”
Along with…
“HOW??”
And then…
“What in the actual (bleep) even HAPPENED here?!”
So, we roll up our sleeves and set out to “defcuk” whatever, uh…interesting situation(?) we’ve inherited.
It’s has never been easier for us to believe that an agency would leave their client’s SEO and content marketing in terrible shape, even after years of (supposedly) working with them. Because — let’s be real — the vast majority of the time, it’s not the client’s fault that their SEO is a mess. Instead, it’s usually the handiwork of yet another “SEO agency” that promised the moon and delivered…well, let’s just say, a whole lot of nothing.
The frustrating part for clients is that SEO really is tricky. If you don’t understand it, it’s easy for an agency to tell you they’re doing the work while really just sitting back and collecting a monthly retainer. And those “reports” and “dashboards” they send? More often than not, they’re just smoke and mirrors. So…
