Who Are We and How Did We Even Get Here?

Absurdity Digital Marketing is the culmination of nearly two decades in increasing online visibility for clients across a full range of industries, both B2B and B2C, in Atlanta and around the country. We specialize in SEO and content marketing, in particular, because it’s both what we love, and where we see the most opportunity to fix a very broken system that takes advantage of small and medium-sized businesses, in particular.

Why “Absurdity” Digital Marketing?

Well, honestly, it’s because over the years, we’ve seen and done some truly absurd things in the name of marketing. From outrageous ways we’ve seen “SEO agencies” be…ummmmm…less than truthful (?) and transparent with their clients, to the ever-changing whims of Google, we’ve learned that marketing is, at its core, a wonderfully absurd necessity. It’s absurd how crucial it is for business success, and equally absurd how complicated and convoluted many of the tools and platforms have become—even some of the most innovative and useful, like OpenAI.

Our Philosophy

We believe in taking the absurdity of digital marketing and making it work for you. We thrive on the unexpected, leveraging our extensive experience to turn even the most outlandish ideas into effective strategies. Our approach is rooted in transparency, creativity, and a touch of irreverence, because if you can’t have a little fun in this crazy (read: absurd) industry, what’s the point?

Who is Absurdity Marketing?

Hi! I'm Shannon Eggleton.

I founded Absurdity Digital Marketing to help build organic search and content strategies for the modern landscape — which means traditional SEO fundamentals, GEO (generative engine optimization), and the architecture decisions that determine whether your content gets surfaced by an AI or buried by one.

I don't hand over a strategy deck and disappear. I diagnose what's broken, build what's missing, and execute.

My clients are mid-market B2B organizations — manufacturers, healthcare providers, logistics companies, professional services firms, with some some strategically placed B2C — where search drives real pipeline, not vanity metrics. I've helped clients recover from algorithm penalties, rebuild content architectures that were actively working against them, and get in front of buyers at the moment decisions are actually being made.

What makes my approach different:

I build things when the tool doesn't exist. ROI calculators, analytics workflows, web applications — I create solutions rather than wait for someone else to.

I write well. Precisely, for the audience — whether that's a clinical aromatherapy study, a metal fabrication trade piece, or a landing page that has to convert. My background in behavioral and social psychology shapes how I structure content for intent, cognitive load, and decision-making — not just keyword density.

I work across the full stack of modern search: technical SEO, content strategy, GEO/AEO, analytics, paid search, and the AI tools that are reshaping all of it. I use Claude and ChatGPT every day — as strategic thinking partners and execution tools, not novelties.

I work with agencies as a senior overflow resource — the person you bring in when you need director-level SEO and content thinking your team can't staff for right now. I'm also open to the right full-time role where building this function is genuinely part of the mission.

I do my best work with organizations that treat strategy as seriously as execution — and understand that winning at search in 2026 looks nothing like it did in 2020.
